JO Refresh is a fragrance-free foaming toy cleaner from System JO. You pump the foam onto a toy, it clings to the surface for 60 seconds while it lifts away lube and residue, and then you rinse or wipe it off. JO says it is safe for silicone, glass, metal and ABS plastic and leaves no residue or scent behind.
It is soap-free and made without alcohol, glycerin, parabens or triclosan, the ingredients that tend to dry out silicone or irritate skin. Pick the 1.7 oz bottle for travel or the 7 oz for home.
60 SECONDS: HOW TO USE JO REFRESH
- Rinse off any obvious lube first if you can.
- Pump enough foam to cover the whole toy, including grooves and textured spots.
- Leave it for 60 seconds.
- Rinse under warm water, or for toys that aren’t waterproof, wipe it off with a damp cloth.
- Let the toy air-dry completely before storing it.
Wipe up spills on the floor straight away: JO warns the foam is very slippery on hard surfaces. Check your toy maker’s own cleaning advice too, especially for unusual materials.

A foam is the easiest choice for toys with ridges, veins or sleeves, because it stays put instead of running off. A mist is quicker on smooth toys. Whichever you use, a good sex toy cleaner is for between-uses care, not a reason to skip proper washing of porous toys.

TOY CLEANER QUESTIONS
What cleaners are safe for silicone toys?
Look for a gentle, alcohol-free cleaner made for toys. JO says Refresh is safe for silicone, glass, metal and ABS plastic and is made without alcohol, glycerin, parabens or triclosan. Avoid harsh household products, which can dry out or damage silicone.
How do you use JO Refresh?
Pump the foam onto the toy, let it sit for 60 seconds, then rinse it off with water or wipe it away. Let the toy air-dry before you put it away.
Can I use it on toys that aren’t waterproof?
Yes, with care: foam it onto the surface, wait, then wipe it off with a damp cloth instead of rinsing under the tap. Keep it away from charging ports.
Is a toy cleaner better than dish soap?
Mild soap and warm water clean most silicone toys. A foaming cleaner like JO Refresh is quicker, clings to textured surfaces and needs no scrubbing, and it is fragrance-free, so it leaves no scent on the toy.
Which size should I buy?
The 1.7 oz bottle travels well and is an easy way to try it. The 7 oz bottle is the better value if you clean toys after every use.
Is JO Refresh a disinfectant?
JO sells it as a gentle foaming toy cleaner that lifts residue, not as a disinfectant, so we don’t describe it as one.
