Aneros Helix Syn V Review: Sizes, Modes and First Use

The Aneros Helix Syn V is a hands-free prostate massager with a motor inside. Like every Aneros, it is shaped to move with your own muscles: when you contract, it pivots inward and upward, pressing on the prostate, the perineum and the area just inside the anus at the same time. The “V” adds vibration, which you can switch on or leave off.
The Helix Syn V is the vibrating version of the Helix Syn Trident, slightly larger than the original Helix Syn, and a two-time AVN “O” Award winner. Below: what the sizes mean in practice, how to plan a first session, and how it compares with the other prostate toys we stock.

Aneros lists 8 vibration patterns at 3 intensities, 24 combinations in all, run from one multifunction button. Aneros describes the low setting as a gentle “power assist”, medium as more than double low, and high as almost three times medium. It’s silicone (per AVN).
What the sizes mean
Aneros publishes six measurements. The ones that matter most for comfort are the head width (how wide the first part is going in), the insertable length, and the stem: the outer arm that rests on the perineum and gives you the leverage.

If you have used a small plug or a finger comfortably, the 0.92-inch head of the Helix Syn V is a gentle step. If you are completely new, start with the motor off so you can feel how the shape moves on its own.
Powered or unpowered?
Motor off
- the toy moves only with your contractions
- Aneros says unpowered use gives fuller, more robust sensations
- best for learning the slow, relaxed technique
Motor on
- start on low, the “power assist” level
- add patterns once the toy is settled
- useful when you want more feedback from the start
A calm first session
- Go to the bathroom first and shower; a douche is optional.
- Lie on your side with knees bent, or on your back.
- Lube the toy and yourself generously with water-based lube, then insert slowly until the stem rests on the perineum.
- Stay still for a few minutes. Then try gentle, slow contractions, as if stopping the flow of urine, and relax between them.
- Add vibration on low only once you are comfortable. Stop if anything hurts.
Patience matters more than technique. Many people need several relaxed sessions before the hands-free movement feels natural. Aneros’s own Sessions gel and Prelude enema bulb are made for this kind of play if you like a matching set.
Care and charging
Wash it with warm water and mild soap or toy cleaner before and after use. For electronic models, Aneros’s care page says to avoid high heat, long periods in direct sunlight and long immersion in water, and to take the toy off the charger once it is full.

Helix Syn V questions
Is the Aneros Helix Syn V good for beginners?
Aneros calls it excellent for new, intermediate and advanced users. With 3.6 inches insertable and a head about 0.92 inches wide it is a moderate size, and you can use it with the vibration off while you get used to it.
Does it need a remote or an app?
No. Aneros describes one simple multifunction button for its 8 patterns and 3 intensity levels. For app control, look at the Lovense Edge 2.
Is the Helix Syn V waterproof?
Aneros doesn’t publish a water rating. Its care page asks you to avoid long immersion in water for electronic models, so wipe and rinse it rather than soaking it.
How long does the battery last?
Aneros doesn’t publish run time or charge time for the Helix Syn V. Its care page says to take it off the charger once it is full.
What lube should I use?
A water-based lube made for anal play. Silicone lube isn’t recommended with silicone toys.
What warranty does it have?
Aneros lists a two-year warranty on its vibrating, electrical products and a 60-day product performance guarantee.
