Magic Wand Plus HV-265 Massager

The Magic Wand Plus is the multi-speed, plug-in version of the classic Magic Wand. It runs on wall power with four speeds up to about 6,300 RPM, a soft silicone head and a flexible neck, so you get the famous deep, rumbly vibration without ever waiting for a charge.

Compared with the Original, the Magic Wand Plus has a gentler low setting, two extra speeds and a silicone head instead of vinyl. The 6-foot cord detaches when you put it away. It’s model HV-265, and you’ll also see it sold as the Hitachi Magic Wand Plus.

Battery wands slowly lose strength as they run down, and they always die at the wrong moment. The Magic Wand Plus plugs into the wall, so the power stays the same for as long as you use it, and there’s no battery to wear out over the years.

The trade-off is the cord. You need to be near an outlet, and it isn’t something you’ll travel with. If cordless matters more to you, the Rechargeable gives you the same speeds with a battery.

• Four speeds instead of two. The lowest setting (about 2,700 RPM) is much gentler, which helps if the Original feels like too much.
• Silicone head. The Original uses textured vinyl. The Plus has a soft, smooth silicone head that’s easy to wipe clean.
• Detachable cord. Unplug it from the wand for easier storage.
• Same plug-in power. Like the Original, it runs straight off the wall.

1. Plug it in. Attach the cord to the wand and plug it into a wall outlet.
2. Start on speed one. Press the power button, then step up through the four speeds with the buttons.
3. Use the whole head. Rest it over the clitoris or vulva, or use it on sore muscles. Light pressure is enough; through a layer of fabric feels softer if it’s too intense.
4. Add lube if you like. A little water-based lube helps the silicone head glide.
5. Unplug it after use and wipe the head clean with a damp cloth.

The Magic Wand Plus is a strong all-round wand, but it isn’t for everyone.

Is the Magic Wand Plus rechargeable?

No. It’s corded and runs on wall power, so it never needs charging and never fades as a battery runs down. If you want cordless use, look at the Magic Wand Rechargeable or Mini.

How many speeds does the Magic Wand Plus have?

Four, at approximately 2,700, 3,800, 5,400 and 6,300 RPM. You change them with buttons on the handle. It has steady speeds only, no pulsing patterns.

What’s the difference between the Magic Wand Plus and the Original?

The Original has two speeds and a textured vinyl head. The Plus adds four speeds (with a much gentler low setting), a soft silicone head and a cord that detaches for storage. Both run on wall power.

Magic Wand Plus or Magic Wand Rechargeable?

They share the same four speeds up to 6,300 RPM and the same silicone head. The Rechargeable adds a battery and four vibration patterns and costs more. Choose the Plus if you always use it near an outlet and want the lower price.

Is it the same as the Hitachi Magic Wand?

Yes, this is the authentic Magic Wand. You’ll often see it listed as the Hitachi Magic Wand Plus. In the US the Magic Wand line is sold by Vibratex, and Tease and Toy is an authorized Magic Wand retailer.

Should I use lube with a Magic Wand?

You don’t need to for external use, but a little water-based lube can make the silicone head glide more comfortably. Avoid silicone-based lube on the silicone head.

Is the Magic Wand Plus waterproof?

No. It’s a corded electrical device, so keep it away from water, the bath and the shower. Clean the head with a damp cloth.

How big and heavy is it?

Vibratex lists it at about 13 inches long with a 2.4-inch head. It weighs about 1.3 lb (the data sheet says 1 lb 4 oz), so it’s a full-size wand. If that sounds heavy, the Mini weighs about 9.7 oz.

Will it work outside the US?

Vibratex lists the power adapter as compatible with 100 to 240V electrical systems. It comes with a US polarized plug, so you’d need a plug adapter in other countries.

Does the Magic Wand Plus come with a warranty?

Yes. Vibratex covers it with a 1-year limited warranty for the original owner.
