The Magic Wand Rechargeable (HV-270) is the cordless version of the corded Original. Vibratex made it similar in size and shape (about 13 inches long), then added a battery, a soft silicone head in place of the Original’s vinyl, four speeds and four vibration patterns. Run it on the battery for about three hours, or leave the 6-foot adapter connected and use it plugged in.
Choose it if you want the deep, rumbly Magic Wand vibration without being tied to an outlet, plus pulsing patterns, which the Original, Plus and Mini don’t have. It is a large, external-only massager and it isn’t waterproof, so check the fit notes below before you order.
CORDLESS OR PLUGGED IN: HOW THE POWER WORKS
Inside the Magic Wand Rechargeable is a built-in lithium-ion battery (7.2V, 2,250mAh). A full charge takes about three hours: the charging light glows red while it charges and turns green when it’s done. That charge gives about three hours of running time, and the light flashes red when it’s time to top up.
If you’d rather not think about the battery, keep the adapter plugged in and the wand runs straight from the wall. Two things the manual points out: the battery doesn’t charge while you use it this way, and the wand switches itself off after about 20 minutes to keep from overheating. Let it cool before you turn it back on.
Vibratex also asks you to unplug it once it’s charged instead of leaving it on the adapter for more than three hours, and to recharge only when the light flashes red. The battery can’t be replaced, so those habits are the best way to help the Magic Wand Rechargeable’s battery last.

FOUR SPEEDS, FOUR PATTERNS, THREE BUTTONS
- Charge it fully before the first use. The light turns from red to green after about three hours.
- Press the on/off button to start the Magic Wand Rechargeable.
- Press the intensity button to step up through the four levels. The blue lights show which level you’re on.
- Press the pattern button to cycle through the four patterns, shown by one to four green bars.
- Hold the head against the outside of the body with light pressure. The manual suggests no more than about three minutes on one spot.
- Press on/off to stop, and unplug the adapter from the wall if it’s connected.
Rest it on a firm surface, not a duvet or couch cushion: the air vents in the body need to stay clear while it runs.
RECHARGEABLE VS. THE ORIGINAL, PLUS AND MINI
All four are Vibratex Magic Wands we keep in stock. The real differences are the power source, the head and which ones have patterns.

Pick the Original if you’ll only ever use it next to an outlet and want the classic two-speed wand for the lowest price. The Plus has the same four speeds and silicone head as the Magic Wand Rechargeable, but it’s corded only. The Mini is the travel pick: much smaller and lighter, with three speeds and no cord. Our Magic Wand model comparison goes through the whole range, including the Micro.

KEEPING IT DRY: CARE AND LUBE
- Wipe the Magic Wand Rechargeable clean before and after each use. Never rinse it or wash it under the tap: the manual is clear that no water or other liquid should get inside.
- Skip alcohol, acetone, abrasive pads and chemical cleaners, which can damage or discolor the silicone and plastic.
- Vibratex says not to use oils, lotions, creams or silicone-based lube on the wand, and to keep liquids, including lube, away from it. Our water-based vs. silicone lube guide explains the difference.
- Wipe the charging plug with a dry cloth now and then, never plug or unplug the adapter with wet hands, and don’t use or charge the wand in a steamy bathroom.
- Store it somewhere cool and dry, covered if you won’t use it for a while, and don’t wrap the cord tightly around the adapter.
MAGIC WAND RECHARGEABLE QUESTIONS
What is the Magic Wand Rechargeable used for?
The Magic Wand Rechargeable is a full-size personal massager for use on the outside of the body. Vibratex describes its deep, rumbly vibration as a mix of direct surface stimulation and indirect vibration you feel more deeply, and says this can lead to blended clitoral orgasms as well as perineal and prostate stimulation. The manual says not to insert it, and not to use it on the head, face, chest, stomach or bony spots like elbows and knees.
Which is better, the Magic Wand Waterproof or the Rechargeable?
It comes down to where you’ll use it. The Magic Wand Rechargeable is not waterproof and has to stay dry, so it’s for the bedroom, not the bath. For shower or bath play, Vibratex makes a separate Magic Wand Waterproof (HV-360), which we don’t stock right now.
How long does a Magic Wand Rechargeable last on one charge?
A fully charged Magic Wand Rechargeable runs for about 3 hours, and charging takes about 3 hours. It also switches itself off after about 20 minutes of continuous use so it doesn’t overheat, so for longer sessions you let it cool and turn it back on.
Can you use the Magic Wand Rechargeable while it’s plugged in?
Yes. Leave the adapter connected and the Magic Wand Rechargeable runs from the wall, which is handy when the battery is low. The battery doesn’t charge while you use it this way, and the manual’s 20-minute limit per session still applies.
Can the battery be replaced?
No. Vibratex says the two built-in lithium-ion cells aren’t replaceable, and the manual warns against swapping them. When the wand no longer holds a charge, stop using it and recycle the batteries. Unplugging once it’s full and recharging when the light flashes red helps the battery last.
Is it worth paying more than for the corded Original?
The Magic Wand Rechargeable costs more because it adds four things the Original doesn’t have: cordless use, four speeds with a much gentler low setting (about 2,700 RPM against the Original’s 5,000), four patterns, and a silicone head instead of vinyl. If you’ll always use it next to an outlet and two strong speeds are enough, the Original costs less.
Does it work with Magic Wand attachments?
The Magic Wand Rechargeable head is about 2.4 inches across. Vibratex’s manual warns against attachments the manufacturer doesn’t recommend, and we don’t sell any attachments made for this wand, so check the attachment maker’s fit guidance before you buy one.
Can I use it outside the US?
The Magic Wand Rechargeable charging adapter accepts 100-240V, but it has a US polarized plug, so you’d need a plug adapter abroad. Vibratex’s one-year limited warranty is only valid in the USA.
