Best for: Classic Magic Wand power without the cord
Vibratex’s cordless Magic Wand keeps the classic size (about 13 inches) and adds a silicone head, four speeds from about 2,700 to 6,300 RPM and four patterns. It also runs from the wall when the battery is low, and switches itself off after about 20 minutes so it doesn’t overheat.
Best for: Plug-in power with four speeds and a silicone head
The Plus is the plug-in wand with the Rechargeable’s four speeds and silicone head. It has a detachable 6-foot cord and, unlike the Original, a 100-240V rating.
Best for: The simple two-speed original
The HV-260 is the original two-speed wand: a switch for about 5,000 or 6,000 RPM, a soft vinyl head and a 6-foot cord. It’s the simplest Magic Wand, rated for 25 minutes of continuous use at a time.

The Mini brings Magic Wand vibration down to 9.6 inches and about 9.7 ounces, with three speeds from about 3,500 to 6,000 RPM. It’s cordless, so it’s the Magic Wand to travel with.

USING A WAND WELL
- Start on the lowest setting, through underwear or a towel if the vibration feels too strong at first.
- Rest the head against the body rather than pressing hard. Magic Wand says heavy pressure doesn’t make it stronger and can bend the head support.
- Watch the time: 25 minutes for the Original, about 20 minutes before the Rechargeable switches off, and 15 minutes for the Le Wand Petite. Then let it cool.
- Keep non-waterproof wands away from water, and never use a corded wand in the bath or shower.
Use water-based lube if you add any (see our lube guide), and follow each maker’s lube advice: the Magic Wand Rechargeable manual, for example, rules out silicone-based lube.

THREE BUYING MISTAKES TO AVOID
- Buying on maximum power alone. The strongest setting isn’t the one most people use most; a gentle low setting and comfortable controls matter as much.
- Assuming every wand is waterproof. Ratings range from IPX7 to none at all. Check before it goes near water.
- Ignoring care. A wand that’s easy to clean and charge is the one you’ll keep using.
STEEL WANDS: THE ONES THAT DON'T VIBRATE
“Wand” also gets used for a very different toy: a solid, curved stainless-steel piece with no motor at all. nJoy makes the two best known, and we stock both. - Fun Wand or Pure Wand? Same length, but the Fun Wand’s ends are smaller (1 in and 0.75 in against 1.5 in and 1 in). That makes it the easier starting point. The Pure Wand is the heavier, fuller one.
- Any lube works. Steel has no surface for silicone lube to damage, so water-based, silicone or oil all suit it. Use oil only if it suits your body and any condom you’re using.
- Temperature play. Steel takes on heat or cold from water. Test it on your wrist first. Never use boiling water or the freezer.
- No charging, no waterproof rating to check. Wash it with warm water and mild soap, then dry it. Store it apart from softer toys so it doesn’t scratch or dent them.

Which wand vibrator is the most powerful?
Magic Wand publishes speeds for its wands: the Rechargeable and Plus reach about 6,300 RPM, and the Original about 6,000. Most other brands don’t publish RPM, so a direct comparison isn’t possible. The Magic Wands are known for a deep, rumbly vibration.
Corded or cordless?
A corded wand like the Magic Wand Plus or Original never runs flat, but you need an outlet. Cordless wands like the Magic Wand Rechargeable, Domi 2 and We-Vibe Wand 2 go anywhere. The Rechargeable can also run while plugged in.
Can I use a wand vibrator in the shower?
Only some. The We-Vibe Wand 2 and ROMP Presto are IPX7 waterproof. The Magic Wands must stay dry, the Le Wand Petite is splash-proof only, and the Domi 2 is IPX6 (rinse only).
How long can I use a wand at a time?
Follow each maker’s limit. The Magic Wand Original manual says 25 minutes, then more than 30 minutes off. The Rechargeable switches itself off after about 20 minutes. Le Wand recommends 15 minutes, then a 30-minute rest. These limits protect the motor.
Is a wand good for beginners?
Yes, if you start on a low setting and use it over clothing or a towel at first. A compact wand like the Le Wand Petite or ROMP Presto is smaller and lighter than a full-size Magic Wand.
Which material is best for a wand vibrator?
Most wands here have a silicone head, which is smooth and easy to clean. The Magic Wand Original has a soft vinyl head, which Vibratex says to wipe with a damp cloth. Whatever the material, check which lubes the maker allows.
How do I clean a wand vibrator?
Follow the maker’s instructions. Waterproof wands like the We-Vibe Wand 2 and ROMP Presto can be washed with warm water and mild soap. Magic Wands must never be put under water: wipe them clean while unplugged. Dry any wand fully before storing it.
Can I use a wand internally?
